Someone in New Jersey won a million dollars in Friday night's Mega Millions.
No one won the jackpot, but two tickets matched all five white balls. They were sold in California and New Jersey, , according to the Mega Millions website.
The NJ ticket won $1 million, but the location of the ticket sale is not yet known.
Meanwhile, the second-tier winning ticket sold in Newport Coast, California won $1,016,356 because prizes in that state are based on actual sales in the jurisdiction.
Mega Millions jackpot hits $498 million
The Mega Millions lottery jackpot will rise to an estimated $198 millionwith a cash option of $245.3 million for Tuesday night's drawing.
The jackpot was last won on June 4 when a lottery player in Illinois won $552 million - the ninth largest Mega Millions ever.
